Message From the Madame

"It has now been several turns since the sun I signed the paperwork that turned my dream into a reality. I can still remember the trepidation - no, the fear - of standing on the land that I had worked so hard for, clutching the papers that proved over and over again that it was mine. It was a bare piece of land, but it held such promise. Past the tears of jubilation and relief, I could finally see the modest building that I would work to have erected come to life beyond simply the sketchings I had done time and time again."If you told that woman that she would be leaving that small plot behind, she would have cried. In truth, she would have believed that she had failed, and that all those who had spurned her and mocked her in the dark had been correct to say that she was a fool. She never could have believed that leaving that small beginning behind would be done with laughter - with friends - to a larger place that was necessary for how well it had done."She never could have believed, then, that she would be surrounded by friends and love that she had thought lost when she'd left the land of her birth behind all those turns ago."We have grown. Hand in hand, we have all toiled to find our way out of our histories and into the light of a life crafted by our own choice. About the Red Lantern Society

Located on a hill overlooking the Lavender Beds, the Red Lantern Society has already begun making a name for itself as a brothel staffed not just by those willing and desiring employment as companions of both sexual and non-sexual nature, but also those who have found employment as part of their rehabilitation. Gardeners, maids, carpenters, and more have all come to find a safe haven that asks only for the hand they can give in keeping the estate running in exchange for a warm bed, good meals, and fair compensation.The knowledge that the business is a brothel is not hidden. There is a distinct degree of transparency in what the business is and who it serves, and it's well known that Tsukiko is as fierce in the protection of all those who seek employment of any sort within the walls of the estate as a mother tiger is over her cubs. She allows for no misunderstandings; the business caters to those who are looking for company, no matter if that company happens to be sexual or merely a warm smile over tea.For those who seek not the employment in keeping clients company, there is still much to be done. The estate permits employment for all sorts; those who have skills in anything from cooking to financials can find honest work in the estate and are as important to the business as the companions themselves. It is advised, however, that even those who find employment in the pleasures of company have a secondary focus - the whims of the flesh can be fickle, and Tsukiko doesn't tolerate idle hands.With expansion on hold while new land is sought to support the needs and desires of the Lantern, those who work within the walls have dedicated themselves to their duties, providing comfort and companionship to guests who frequent the business and extending the hand of friendship to other venues in need of the extra hands that have gathered beneath the Lantern's glow.The Red Lantern is a brothel - it is a business, and it is run with that in mind. Founded in March of 2017, The Red Lantern Society is a long-standing active RP/PvE Free Company located on the Balmung server of the Crystal Datacenter. RLS is primarily NA-based, but we do have members and guests from the EU/AUS timezones.From the beginning, we have worked to be a positive example of a community with a theme that revolves around eroticism and sensuality, seeking to raise the bar on expectations held toward other communities in our same theme, while removing the taboo of what is effectively just fine-detail writing for and between adults.Since the modest beginnings, we have seen expansion not just in the addition of wonderfully creative and passionate story-tellers, but also in our network as we work with and assist FC's of all stripes with their own events and needs.As of 2021 and to come more in-line with our wish to build a community of like-minded adults, we are now a 21+ FC that seeks out other story-tellers and those passionate about character development in all it's wild forms.It is our desire to create a foundation for characters to come and relax in a place built for comfort where they can explore their desires, be they intimate or otherwise, without judgement.

Companions:

Employed at the estate and considered the bread and butter of the business, those who find work as a Companion are those who have willingly decided to devote their time to the health and well-being of others. Under Tsukiko's rigid guidance - as she has high expectations of those who are arguably front and center at the brothel - the men and women of the Red Lantern Bordello are expected to not just cater to the whims and desires of the clients that find their way to the Lantern, but also maintain a healthy presence in the world outside of the estate. Positions for all types, genders, and sexualities are open for those who wish to enter into the lifestyle - and Tsukiko is quick to remind applicants that not all companionship is sexual, nor should it be expected to be so.

Security:

Responsible for the safety of both the estate and all employees on the grounds, those who find work as members of the security team are upheld to rigorous standards not only in their martial prowess, but also in their mental and emotional capabilities. The security team is expected to be loyal to the business and those who work within it, and often serve as escorts should a companion be working out-of-house, or a hired hand for staff who may need to travel to complete tasks. Security keep the peace at events, and are required to keep themselves fit and at the top of their game when it comes to their skills.

Estate Staff:

For those who do not work in the companionship position but hold responsibility for the care and upkeep of the business itself, there is the Estate Staff. Staff are important and generally hold responsibilities that are in line with what they do within the company; tailors meet with companions to make sure outfits fit properly, botanists tend to the gardens, engineers see to the airships and submersibles and maintain the mammets that fly the vehicles. Hosts, cooks, housekeeping, butlers. All who call the estate home are employed in some manner or another based on their strengths.
